Scottsdale is a city in eastern Maricopa County, Arizona, part of the Phoenix metropolitan area, located in the Sonoran Desert at the foot of the McDowell Mountains. It is bordered by Phoenix to the west, the Tonto National Forest to the north, the McDowell Mountains to the east, and the Salt River to the south.

Schools
The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) serves most of Scottsdale, along with parts of Paradise Valley, Phoenix, and Tempe, operating 14 elementary, 2 K-8, 6 middle, and 5 high schools. Portions of Scottsdale are also served by the Paradise Valley Unified School District, which covers parts of northeast Phoenix and Scottsdale, and by the Cave Creek Unified School District, which serves the northern portion of Scottsdale. Attendance boundaries for SUSD schools are published as elementary, middle, and high school boundary maps, and the district periodically adjusts boundaries, such as a 2026 change moving parts of the Pima Elementary area to Yavapai and Hohokam.
