Mesa
Mesa is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, located in the East Valley section of the Phoenix metropolitan area, about 20 miles east of Phoenix. It is the third-largest city in Arizona, after Phoenix and Tucson, with a 2020 Census population of 504,258 and a land area of about 139 square miles.

Most of Mesa is served by Mesa Public Schools (Mesa Unified School District #44), which is headquartered at 63 E. Main Street in Mesa and is the largest public school district in Arizona, serving about 57,000 students across 78 schools. A small southern portion of the city is served by Gilbert Public Schools and the Queen Creek Unified School District, and a small western portion is served by the Tempe Elementary School District and the Tempe Union High School District. Getting around
Valley Metro's A Line light rail runs along Main Street through Mesa, with service spanning from Arizona State Route 101 to Gilbert Road and including seven boarding stations within the city; the Gilbert Road/Main Street station serves as the current terminus of the line. The light rail connects to Tempe, Arizona State University, and downtown Phoenix, with travel to downtown Phoenix taking around 40 minutes from downtown Mesa. The city also operates the Downtown Buzz, a free neighborhood bus connecting riders to major bus routes and attractions including Mesa Arts Center. Valley Metro bus routes also serve stops throughout the city.
Things to do
Downtown Mesa includes the Mesa Arts Center, a performing and visual arts complex at One East Main Street that opened in 2005 and includes four theaters, five art galleries, and 14 art studios across a 7-acre campus. Nearby, the Mesa Amphitheatre hosts music events. Downtown Mesa also includes additional museums such as the IDEA Museum and Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, along with the Mesa Public Library and Mesa Convention Center.
